How to Make Easy Homemade Scented Soap Balls

Decorative Soaps Made with Grated Ivory Bars (My Personal Recipe)

Homemade soaps can be fun to make using ordinary bars of old-fashioned Ivory. The following easy homemade scented soap balls are very cheap and easy to make, and they can be turned into more than just decorative scented bathroom accessories. They become Functionable and Frugal :)

Supplies

You will need 1 Bar of Ivory for each Homemade Scented Soap Ball.

A hand held Cheese grater

Fragrance Oil

A large mixing bowl

A cutting board

Waxed Paper

1 cup warm water ( you wont use all) just a few drops at a time.

Directions

Begin by grating all of the Ivory soap into large shreds using a standard handheld grater. Place it in a bowl, and after all of it is grated, add a small amount of slightly warm water. With bare hands, mix the  Ivory shavings with the water. This mixture should have a soft but shapeable consistency. If it is too stiff, gradually add more water. I do it by a few drops at a time. If you If too much water has been added, drain it away in a colander or on absorbent paper towels.

Your last step should be adding the fragrance. You can find them at Craft Stores or on line. I add several drops of scented oil until I am satisfied with the smell.  One thing to note is Scented oils can be very strong. Start with a drop or two and work up to more.

They can be made to look like snowballs, mounds of coconut, or they can be smoothed to form perfect little balls. Place them on a plastic cutting board or a sheet of waxed paper for drying.

When my children were little I used to hide bubble gum machine toys inside! You would be surprised at how fun it makes Bath Time!!

Whola..Your done :) Enjoy!
