Food Fun Hop!! Chicken Salad with a Twist -Newman’s Own Organics Review and Giveaway! #foodfunhop

07/16/2012

Laura's Newman's Own RecipeI have had a wonderful Opportunity to work with Newman’s Own Organics Company again. This time it was to create a recipe from items they sent me. We received 3 Bags of Dried Fruits- 1 Cranberry, 1 Dried Berries, and 1 Dried Apples along with a pack of Hermit Cookies!

First let me say, My Dad stopped over and found the Hermit Cookies and before I realized that ingredient was gone haha! They were delicious he said and he sends his apologies. :)

I created Chicken Salad with a Twist!! and Oh Mercy is it delish!!

Ingredients:

1 Can Chicken, drained and rinsed

1/4 cup Newman’s Own Organic Dried Berries

1/4 cup Newman’s Own Organic Apples -Chopped into Small Pieces

1/4 cup Newman’s Own Organic Cranberries

3 Tblsp. Almond Slices

Mayo- Tsp at a time til desired consistency.

Tortilla Shells, cut in small circles (for cups)

Mix all ingredients together. Save Tortilla Shells. For Tortilla Shell cups. Cut Shells into small circles and dampen. I used the back of a mini muffin cup and shaped tortilla shell around them. Bake at 400* for 5-6 minutes. Just lightly brown and stiff. Let cool and remove. Place Chicken Salad in Tortilla Shell cup and serve! YUM!

The Chive garnish is from my Herb Garden :)

The Newman’s Own Dried fruits and Hermits were provided to bloggers as part of the Food Fun Hop Event Hosted by Shy Babies & Little Inspiration.

Now on to the Best Part~ We are all participating in a Recipe Hop from July 16th to July 29th. You can win your own ingredients! 3 Bags of Dried Fruit and Hermit Cookies!!

How can you win?

Out of all the recipes I have seen through this blog hop, I would have to try yours. Yours was the only one that was not a muffin/cake/pancake.
